Are You Using The Correct Makeup Brush?
There are many different makeup brushes, but do you know what each specific makeup brush is designed for? Well, obviously they all don’t serve the same purpose even though some may look a bit similar. A professional or experienced Makeup Artist will be able to tell exactly what each makeup brush is used for but if you aren’t a pro and are simply a newbie to the makeup world you might get a tad bit confused.
Using the appropriate makeup brush for its specific purpose will help you to create a perfect makeup look.
These are the makeup brushes you want to have in your makeup kit.
As the name suggests this brush is used for applying foundation. Foundation brushes are either flat or rounded in shape. A flat foundation brush allows you to apply foundation in a “painting motion” while a rounded foundation brush allows you to apply foundation in a “buffing or circular motion” .
This brush is used to apply face powder to seal the foundation and prevent your face from looking shiny.
A contour brush is used to create dimensions along the cheekbones and jawline; this creates the illusion of high cheek bones and a very sculpted face. The brush has an angled shape which makes contouring super easy. Contouring is optional and is not necessary for an everyday makeup look.
The blush brush is a tapered brush which is used for shading and contouring cheeks with blush or bronzer.
EYE SHADOW BRUSH
The eye shadow brush has a tapered and rounded edge which is used to apply and blend out eye shadow.
The concealer brush is a flat brush with a pointed tip which is used for masking imperfections.
The spoolie brush is an eyebrow shaping tool that looks similar to a mascara wand. It is used for brushing brows into place to prep them for further definition using an angled brush.
The angled brush is used to add colour to the brow by filling in sparse areas and creating sharp precise lines giving brows a PERFECT arched shape.
Makeup brushes are available in any beauty or cosmetic store. They range in prices and you also have the option of purchasing an entire kit which includes all the different brushes. If you are a newbie to the beauty scene, you might want to SAVE instead of SPLURGE on a makeup brush kit but if you know a thing or two about makeup and you are absolutely obsessed you might want to invest in a makeup brush kit that will last for a while.
