Louis Vuitton Museum to Open in October
If you are planning a visit to Paris this fall, we highly recommend taking advantage of the new Louis Vuitton Museum opening–oh happy day!
The museum is being built by the LVMH Foundation, whose mission is “to encourage and promote contemporary artistic creation both in France and internationally.” The museum will be filled with the corporate art collection of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, creating another attraction in their French capital.
If you are picturing a museum filled with Louis Vuitton vintage handbags, accessories and clothing, you are thinking wrong! The museum will be more than just a constant exhibit, but will also feature various commissioned exhibits, temporary exhibit, and an area for performances and events.
Jean-Paul Claverie, an adviser to LVMH states, “It will express the artistic, cultural and emotional values, as well as the art of living, promoted by Bernard Arnault and the LVMH Group, but it is truly a charitable foundation, devoted to the public as a whole.”
So how much does the Louis Vuitton Museum cost?
This iconic museum certainly didn’t come cheap. The project is costing $136 million and will be the foundations biggest (and most expensive) contributions to the art world.
So save the date for October 27th, 2014 fashion lovers!
