Velaterapia – Split Ends Hair Magic
Split ends are the absolute worst for your hair and can be a pain in the butt if you are trying to reduce frizz and frazzle. They are unruly and certainly unattractive especially when they are so severe that anyone can spot them from a mile away. Any which way, split ends are BAD NEWS!
When you start experiencing split ends, normally the best solution would be to let your hairstylist trim the ends since split ends can’t be reversed or replenished unlike other issues such as dry or frizzy hair which can be reversed by using the right hair products.
I’m sure no one likes cutting a half to an inch of their hair due to split ends, especially when they’re trying to grow Rapunzel-like locks. Well, there may be an alternative way to getting rid of those horrible split ends and it is all the rave in Sao Paulo and popular amongst Brazilian supermodels.
The process is called velaterapia which involves adding flames to the hair by using a candle. Now, you are probable wondering why in Versace’s name would you want to put your hair in a burning flame? Clearly this should be done by professionals who are experienced in performing this technique and should not be done on your own as you may end up with way more than just slit ends to worry about!
The velaterapia technique isn’t as bad as it sounds and it is actually quite safe when done by a professional. As you can see the image above, what actually happens is the hair is sectioned into small parts and each part is then twisted. When the hair is twisted you will see all the split ends sticking out of the twist and this is what is singed under the burning flame; the split ends.
Remember, this technique should be done by hair professionals and not by yourself in front of your bathroom therefore if you are a victim of split ends and would like to test out the velaterapia technique then visit your local hair salon to find out if they specialize in this new hot hair trend.
The technique uses the flame to burn your hair, thus eliminating the split ends! Who would have thought? Are you ready to try this new technique?
